One thing about lingerie is it is one thing men and women both want the same thing from. Girls want to look sexy when they are wearing lingerie and, of course, men prefer that we always look sexy! LOL! I think men would be happy to see a space shuttle full of women if they would come out with a line of sexy astronaut lingerie! Come to think of it, some men probably already fantasize about that! ;-)
Anyway, since everyone wants the same thing from lingerie, it is usually one of the easiest gifts to "hint" your way into. You might have to twist his arm to drag him into a shoe store (unless, of course, he is one of those guys who are into feet LOL!), but try suggesting you pop into Victoria's Secret next time you are at the mall. He will practically knock you down rushing for the door!
But once inside, beware, if he has a wondering eye you may have to take extra measures to keep him focused on the task at hand. This is usually pretty easy to do by asking how he thinks you would look in this or that. In extreme cases, you may need to suggest that he might get to see you in something sexy that evening. That will usually snap his focus right back where it belongs! LOL!
One of my favorite lingerie items is the babydoll nightie. Not only is it sleek and sexy, but it is awesomely comfortable and easy to wear. I have found that most guys love them, as well. Looking at them on a girl, I mean -- not wearing them, though I am sure that out there somewhere... LOL! Another advantage is when you are trying to set a mood and things go well, a babydoll nightie can be slipped off with ease or worked around if you are really in a hurry. But trust me, it is better to slow down and take your time! ;-)
I prefer my nighties very sheer, and I think most boys enjoy this as well. But then on the other hand, a nice silk babydoll sure feels nice and maybe keeps things a bit more mysterious. It is really a matter of personal choice, but to keep things lively in the boudoir be sure your man has some say. But wasn't I supposed to be talking about retro lingerie.? Jeez, see what I mean about straying off subject!
These days you can buy retro lingerie brand new off the rack and it is one of the hottest items in the world of lingerie. But my introduction to vintage apparel came a few years ago when my mom moved on but left behind a collection of old clothes that my grandmother and great grandmother had worn. Two huge trunks full of clothes from the mid-1940s through the late-1970s. I couldn't believe my mom had never worn any of this stuff, but I was thrilled that it was now all mine!
In this collection of clothes there were about a dozen overbust corsets. I fell in love with these and took to wearing them just about all the time. Since then I have also started buying new corsets from time to time. I love the way they hug your body and with the ones that truly are old it feels like they are transporting you into the past. You get a hint of this feeling with the "brand new" retro stuff, but to truly understand what I mean you will have to visit your local vintage shop.
Of course, one big difference between corsets and babydoll nighties is that corsets can take a lot longer to get off. If your man is sometimes a little too rushed, this may be a good way to slow things down in a way you both might enjoy. You may have to remind him that unwrapping the present can be an enjoyable part of the overall experience, but most guys do not argue too much. If they do complain, try telling them what will happen once they finally get to the prize. ;-)
I prefer overbust corsets, but there are also many beautiful underbust corsets and it is really just a matter of preference. One advantage to the underbust corset is you can mix and match bras and panties where as with the overbust variety you can really only choose panties. It is great sometimes to be able to be creative with your color choices and even vary the material somewhat so there are reasons some may prefer to go underbust.
I also enjoy a wide variety of fabric in the corsets I wear. Flexibility is important with anything as close-fitting as a corset, but anything from silk to leather can be used. Material can certainly aid in setting the mood you are going for. Anything from an innocent little girl to a controlling dominatrix can be brought to mind just by the choice of an appropriate corset. Once that mood is set, well that's when the fun can begin! So dress up or dress down, but either way enjoy what you wear! :-)
In the end, your lingerie choices are up to you and maybe to some extent the man you are trying to please. You should only choose items that are fun to wear, that you enjoy, and that you feel make you look sexy and desirable. Stay away from what is trendy unless you truly like it, but do not go in the opposite direction and dismiss something just because it is popular. Whatever you choose, always have a good time! :-)
